The Client is the world’s leading airline and is focused on being the airline customers want to fly with,
the airline employees want to work for, and the airline shareholders want to invest in. It is the world’s largest airline in terms of fleet size and number of destinations.

The Client uses TIBCO Business Events to control and track the various operational aspects of day to day flight operations. The Client uses TIBCO BusinessWorks to integrate the different enterprise systems they use and also to integrate the systems of a fellow airline, postmerger. The Client had to integrate the merged airline’s operations with their own and it was determined that a TIBCO upgrade would give them the required functionality and flexibility.


The following services were performed by Data-Core consultants to achieve the Client’s objectives:

  • Maintained and supported the various TIBCO applications in production.
  • Upgraded the TIBCO stack and migrated the various projects from BusinessEvents 3.0 to 4.0.
  • Upgraded the TIBCO stack and migrated the various projects from BusinessWorks 5.7 to 5.11.
  • Created new interfaces between the reservation system and the various front-end systems.
  • Completed As-Is process enhancements and improved the efficiency of the flight-, passenger- and crew- notifications sent to several agencies.

The project standardized and streamlined the interface and connectivity between the Client and the merged airline’s operational systems. The TIBCO upgrade helped the two airlines integrate their systems using a uniform methodology, much quicker than would have been otherwise possible. The added features available with the upgrade also allowed these airlines to add enhancements to their flight-, passenger- and crew-notifications that are sent to various organizations and agencies.
